AQUACEL^® rope dressing plus the antimicrobial properties of ionic silver now with strengthening fibers making the tensile strength 20 times stronger than the earlier rope products. This soft sterile flexible ribbon is composed of sodium carboxymethycellulose and 1.2 % ionic silver with strengthening fibers which allows for a maximum of 12 mg of silver. The silver in the rope dressing kills wound bacteria held in the dressing and provides an antimicrobial barrier to protect the wound bed. This rope dressing absorbs high amounts of wound fluid and bacteria creating a soft, cohesive gel that conforms to the wound surface, maintains a moist environment that aids in the removal of non-viable tissue, supports the body's healing process and helps to reduce the risk of wound infection.
